In September 2019 I received Title to commence the build on my property. After purchasing the land, I interviewed 12 build companies using the same specifications and build requirements. A contract was signed with Trend Setter Homes. This family run company made my build easy and enjoyable. Following three meetings a build plan was designed and agreed. Tony and Christine are effective communicators and always return calls and follow through on what they say they will do. Everything is above board and upfront, with no surprises. They have hands on experience and offer solutions and alternatives to work within your budget. What I liked about this company is they use the same build teams and contractors for all builds, so they all know how each other works. During the (12 weeks) build process I would call in unannounced and view progress and it was never an issue. The build process was made easy with good communication between all parties and paying attention to the details. I would highly recommend Trend Setter Homes and will be securing their services for my next build.

I first met Tony Andersen of Trendsetter Homes on the Pegasus Residents Committee when my husband and I were living in Pegasus. When we decided to sell our Pegasus home and build in Amberley, we employed a local builder. Unfortunately he went into liquidation and we lost a considerable sum of money. We were at a loss to know what to do as we had already bought a section and were now in a position where we didn’t think that we could afford to build. Tony rang us as soon as he found out and offered to build us a different house at a reduced rate and also suggested that he would endeavour to source discounts from his suppliers. My husband and I were very grateful and relieved that we could still carry on with our life. Tony had his architect design a beautiful home and commenced with the build. Unfortunately, when the foundations were only just laid, my husband died unexpectedly. I had to carry on with the build and Tony and his team were very sympathetic, supportive and helpful. The final price was under that had been anticipated due to Tony’s suppliers getting behind him and helping where possible. Even the Hurunui District Council helped by rushing through the consent for us. I moved in at the end of July 2015 into a beautiful home and any teething problems were dealt with promptly by Tony’s team. After living in the house for 9 months, I found that I needed to be closer to family now that I was on my own and put the house on the market. It sold straight away and I got slightly more than what it cost me allowing me to get back my original investment. I would like to extend my grateful thanks to Trendsetter Homes and Tony Andersen for their tremendous help and to their suppliers for their cooperation in doing what they could to get me back into this house. I will be sorry to leave it as it is a wonderful home.

We are delighted with our new home which was created through a design-and-build contract with Trendsetter Homes. The outstanding feature of the home for us is the way it has been designed to take maximum advantage of the location and orientation of its site. It is situated on the island at Pegasus, with a beachfront position that cannot be built out, and the living areas face the north-west across Lake Pegasus with the Southern Alps in the background. The home’s success is based on three things: we had a clear vision of what we wanted; careful attention to detail during the design phase, which we did in association with Richard Ormsby of X.Design Architects who incorporated our wishes into the design effectively; and excellent execution of the design in the build phase which was managed by the team at Trendsetter Homes led by Tony Andersen. We were impressed with the contributions by the competent and understanding contractors engaged on the project by Trendsetter Homes.
